This has got to be one of the best things we’ve seen on social media.
Over the weekend, a Facebook post praising a Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight attendant for feeding an elderly passenger aboard a flight went viral after it was posted by user Rina Sheryl Estabillo-Dajao.
In the now-viral photo, the flight attendant can be seen putting her hand below the elderly woman’s mouth to avoid the food from spilling. Dajao wrote: “Whoever she is, may the Lord bless you a thousand fold and make you the cabin crew of the century. Wholehearted service in action. This deserves 5 stars. #FindTheMysteryCrew”
Yesterday, Dajao posted that she finally found the mystery crew member whom she only named “Chet.”
“Dear Chet, [I] finally found you! Just want to say that you are a gem,” she wrote.
She went on to say how toxic the news has been over social media the past few months, and that seeing the kind act “is more than enough to give us HOPE that there are still people like you who will still DO THE RIGHT THING even if no one is watching.”
“You must have been so exhausted on that flight yet you still managed to go above & beyond with so much grace & class. So the next time I board a plane, I will think of flight attendants like you who has (sic) so much heart & care to give on (sic) their passengers. Instead of complaining over a delayed flight; I WILL CHOOSE TO BE PATIENT & TO UNDERSTAND,” she added.
“Your job is no easy feat and is physically challenging but despite that, you gave your Buong Pusong Alaga (wholehearted service) without expecting anything in return.”
She also thanked all flight attendants who take care of their passengers in flight.
Dajao’s first post has garnered over 69,000 likes and 30,000 shares as of this article’s posting.
Netizens couldn’t help but feel emotional over the photo. Chynee Mae Cunanan Guiao said what the flight attendant did was “so sweet.”
Lestsky Les wrote: “[A]wwww God Bless you.”
One netizen identified the flight attendant as Chet De Guia Encarnacion.
A Facebook user which goes by the name Jopwa Jopwa said: “There are still good people out there.”
“Loving people unconditionally is doing the service beyond [what is] require[d]. Salute to this crew [member],” wrote Jun Placer.
Major props to you, Chet!
