A car is now internet famous after a photo of a hugot line written on its window was posted by a motorist on Monday.

The photo was posted by Facebook user Adrian Tan and shows a black Fortuner cruising along Commonwealth Ave. in Quezon City with a special message to all lovelorn ‘nice guys’ stuck in the friend zone.

Literally meaning “to pull,” a hugot line is a short, powerful declaration that captures a painful experience, usually involving heartbreak.

The message on the back window says in Filipino: “You rejected the nice guy. You went with the *sshole. And then you’re going to say that all men are the same?”

Tan appreciated the message, even writing in his caption: “[N]ot all heroes wear capes.”

He told Coconuts Manila that he was driving behind the car at the time and took a screenshot of his dash cam’s footage to get the photo.

“[I] felt happy [to have come across it], I knew I had to take a picture and share it to the world,” Tan said. “Let’s just say I share the guy’s sentiments.”

Tan said he had gotten in touch with the owner of the Fortuner, identifying him as Miguel Dumandan.

“He thanked me afterwards [for the viral post], it was all good.”

Asked to comment regarding what he would say to these “*ssholes,” Tan said: “Glad I’m not you.”

The post seems to have resonated with netizens as it had over 11,000 likes and 25,000 shares as of this article’s posting.

Earvin Calross Ines Antiporda wrote: “[H]ahaha can I get an amen???!”

Mariella Fukuda wrote in Filipino: “His pain is deep. But real talk, nice guys are really pitiful.”

Jit Ruu said: “Hahaha.. This guy was probably rejected.”

Melvin Mantes came out with a classic battle cry: “Not all [men].”

This is funny and all but at some point, they’ll have to stop blaming women for picking the “wrong guy.” Don’t women get a say too?

Will watch out for a car window with that message. In the meantime, here’s a Vice article about why blaming the friend zone is problematic.
