A man who was about to buy bread from a roadside bakeshop was surprised to see his car, which was initially on the other side of the road, closing in on him, as if ready to pick him up.

Facebook user Bryan Fer Manila shared the CCTV footage yesterday of an empty SUV backing up on its own near FTM Goodies Bakeshoppe in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

“SUA IS REAL. Sudden Unintended Atras (Back up),” Mania says in the post.

The first video shows the driver leaving the SUV. He then walks to the bakeshop located at the other side of the street.

Almost immediately after he left, the car backs up by itself and moves towards him. Luckily, the car did not hit any of the tricycles and motorcycles on its way.

The second video shows the SUV’s owner trying to stop the car from backing up by pushing it.

Good thing the vehicle didn’t crash straight into the bakeshop.

By the end of the video, he is able to turn the engine off to stall the SUV.

Phew. That would’ve been a messy situation.

The first video has over 1.2 million views with over 12,000 shares as of this article’s posting. Netizens weighed in on the incident on social media:

Facebook user Albert Orpilla said in Filipino: “The car was in reverse, and it wasn’t put in park and he didn’t use the handbrake. Take care parking, friend.”

Eloiza Bertucio Reluao added in Filipino: “This is so crazy. Good thing no one got hurt. Take care while parking.”

Krizia Macasaet tagged a friend and said: “[H]ahaha, [the car] missed him already.”

“Hahahha so damn, put [your] handbrake [on] b4 (before) you leave [the] car,” says Darwin Dacquel.
