He’s not going to win over his critics no matter what he says.
“A day before his 72nd birthday, on Tuesday, November 11, Vice President Jejomar Binay attended a mass at the Makati City Hall II with his supporters,” reports ANC.
At the said event, Binay was asked what his birthday wish was. He replied, “Dagdagan pa ang dasal para sa bayan at kabayan (More prayers for the country and our countrymen).”
Binay’s wife, Dr. Elenita Binay, on the other hand, said, “Good health, peace in his heart, and peace for everybody.”
The doctor reportedly said she also wished for the family’s accusers to stop what they were doing.
However, Senator Nancy Binay, the couple’s daughter, said, “We were warned that a storm was going to hit our family. They’re going to target us one by one. I wouldn’t be surprised if my own kids, as well as my nephews and nieces, would also be hit with allegations.”
The report noted: “Binay is currently at the center of several controversies, starting with the alleged overpricing of Makati City projects back when he was still mayor. There’s also his alleged ownership of a 350-hectare property in Rosario, Batangas.”
