Vhong Navarro’s camp seeks help from Mar Roxas

Is the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) going to step in?

“On Friday, Jan 31, Vhong Navarro’s lawyer, Atty. Dennis Manalo revealed that he asked DILG Secretary Mar Roxas for help to secure his client, who is still recovering at the hospital,” reports Camille Diola on Philstar.com.

Manalo disclosed that he was prompted to ask for Roxas’ assistance because of a “suspicious incident” that happened at Navarro’s condominium unit. He declined to elaborate what exactly the “suspicious incident” was.

In any case, there have been rumors that Cedric Lee—one of the most prominent suspects in the mauling and alleged extortion of Navarro—has connections to some high-ranking police officials.

Not that we’re dismissing the agony Navarro has suffered—but, perhaps, Roxas should keep his hands off this one. Why? For starters, one word: “Yolanda.” (The folks in Samar and Leyte still need more help.)
