“Assistant State Prosecutor Hazel Decena told Vhong Navarro and his lawyer Atty. Alma Mallonga that the Department of Justice (DOJ) preliminary investigation panel would grant the actor’s request to skip the Feb 14 hearing,” reports Christine O. Avendaño in Philippine Daily Inquirer.
According to the report, “Decena acknowledged the comedian’s reason for not wanting to attend: He didn’t want to see his alleged attackers again.”
Mallonga added that Navarro “was still suffering from psychological and emotional damage.”
Navarro, however, must show up for the next hearing on Feb 21.
