Vanishing trade: Pushcart vendor

We snapped this photo on a Sunday morning in front of UP Town Center — an itinerant vendor selling his wares on a push cart.

What was he selling? Plastic toys for children, batteries, plastic baskets, coin purses, walis tingting, umbrellas, clothes pins and more.

Do you remember when vendors would use a carabao to drag a cart full of handcraft goods like woven baskets, chairs, even book shelves? Whatever happened to the carabao?
