While the rest of the local governments have been busy getting likes for their Facebook Page, Valenzuela was cooking up a much more ambitious digital project: an online payment system for residents to pay for government fees like business license, property tax, engineering permits, and the like. Payment can be made either via www.valenzuela.gov.ph or physically going to City Hall and using your credit, debit or prepaid card instead of cash. The project, which claims to be the first of its kind for local governments in NCR, is being operated by Development Bank of the Philippines.
