Shit really happens.
“Human waste spilled out of the Valenzuela City Jail’s septic tank onto Maysan Road at around 2pm on Monday, Jan 13,” reports Rey Galupo in The Philippine Star.
The report explained that the jail had complained to the city hall about the clogged toilets and drains, which were caused by a full septic tank.
When the city hall personnel arrived, they opened the septic tank’s valve. However, the tank’s contents spilled and contaminated surrounding streets, particularly Maysan Road.
The city’s fire department was called flush the waste into a manhole. By then, of course, residents had complained about the foul odor.
