UST, FEU suspend classes due to bad weather

You know things are really serious when schools have to suspend classes even when there’s technically no actual typhoon hitting Metro Manila.

“The University of Santo Tomas (UST) and University of the East (Caloocan and Manila) suspended classes in all levels Tuesday, August 26, due to rains,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), “floods hit Manila and other flood-prone portions of the capital due to thunderstorms.”

In fact, the report noted that “due to continuous rains, PAGASA issued a yellow rainfall warning over Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon.”

The report added: “PAGASA said the low pressure area off Guiuan, Eastern Samar is not expected to intensify into a tropical cyclone, but will bring rains over parts of the Philippines in the next few days.”
