The United States Embassy in Manila has announced Wednesday that “systems issues” will cause delays in processing non-immigrant visas.

In its advisory, the US Embassy said it is already resolving the glitch but warned applicants in the Philippines of likely delays.

“As we continue to work through these system issues, applicants may experience some delays. We apologize for the inconvenience to travelers waiting for visas,” the advisory said.

The US Embassy added that as soon as “systems are restored to full functionality,” it will immediately work on backlogs.

“We encourage applicants to apply far in advance of their intended travel date and not to purchase airline tickets until a visa has been received,” US Embassy also said.

US Embassy reiterated that there have been no changes in US visa policies for Filipinos.
