Just how many shabu labs are in the country?
Police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided an underground shabu laboratory operating inside a piggery and poultry farm in Magalang, Pampanga, on Wed, Sep 7.
“The underground shabu laboratory was concealed beneath a warehouse in Barangay Balitucan at the foot of Mount Arayat, and was three kilometers east of the regional police training center and the Central Luzon Drug Rehabilitation Center,” reports Tonette Orejas in Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Police arrested seven Chinese nationals who were at the compound. Five children, aged 7 to 15 years old, were also found at the compound and were taken into custody by social workers.
One of the Chinese nationals claimed that he had only operated the piggery for the last two years and said he had no knowledge about the underground shabu laboratory that was concealed under the warehouse where feeds were milled and mixed.
According to Wilkins Villanueva, PDEA director for the National Capital Region, the Magalang laboratory “was part of a network of five facilities that have been supplying drugs in Luzon.”
