Undas 2015: DOTC kicks off Oplan Ligtas Biyahe

On Thu, Oct 29, the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) kicked off “Oplan Ligtas Biyahe,” which aims to to ensure smooth and safe flight of passengers in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) as All Souls’ Day nears.

DOTC Secretary Jun Abaya led inspection at NAIA to check whether the week-long Oplan is properly implemented.

DOTC is expecting a peak in number of passengers from Fri, Oct 30 to Mon, Nov 2.

Additional security personnel are added in the area, while first aid and help desks have started a 24-hour operation.

Some 50,000 passengers are expected on All Souls’ Day and airlines said they are putting their best effort to prevent long queues. (Mornings@ANC)
