It was a relatively tame attack.
The Wikipedia page of UN rapporteur Agnes Callamard was tampered with minutes after her arrival on Friday morning, May 5.
A paragraph added by the attackers accused Callamard of being “a highly paid consultant of the Liberal Party of the Philippines dedicated into overthrowing one of the best President (Duterte) the country has ever had (sic).”
According to ABS-CBN News, the defacers gave up at 3:25 am after attempting to add the paragraph several times.
Callamard is in the country to participate in a two-day drug forum organized by the Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG).
She has repeatedly criticized President Duterte’s campaign against drugs.
“Badly thought out, ill-conceived policies, foster a regime of impunity, infecting the world justice sector, invigorating the rule of violence rather than the rule of law, eroding public trust in public institutions, breeding fear and leading people to despair,” she said.
