Brace yourselves for a rainy Holy Week.

“According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), a typhoon with the international name “Maysak” is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday, April 1,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report noted: “PAGASA said that at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 30, ‘Maysak’ was spotted 2,240 kilometers east of Mindanao and was packing maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 170 kph. Maysak was moving west at 23 kph.”

Once “Maysak” enters PAR, it will be called “Chedeng.”

According to PAGASA weather forecaster Gladys Saludes, “the effects of the typhoon will not be immediately felt once the typhoon enters PAR.” She added that “rains may be felt in parts of Luzon and Visayas” due to the weather disturbance.
