Two men were caught engaged in a fist fight on Quimpo Boulevard in Davao City Thursday morning.

The reason: they fought over PHP30 or US$0.56.

Facebook user Neza Matimatico Mabuting posted a video of the two men who fought at an emission center after a client had paid for a stencil. The men had a disagreement after one of them got a smaller share of the client’s payment.

The video has gone viral, and has garnered over 127,000 views and more than 1,900 shares.

Motorists need to have their car’s engine number stenciled on their vehicles before they could register it with the government. It’s necessary for all vehicles, whether its brand new or an old one whose registration has to be renewed. Customers have to pay tips for the 10 to 15 minute service.

Jomar Bintayao, who works in the same emission center, said that one of the men got angry when he was given a smaller share of the tip.

“What was given to them was PHP30 (US$.56), but what was given to him was only PHP5 (US$0.09) which is why they fought,” he said in Filipino.

Two men had tried to stop the co-workers from fighting, however, they only broke it up when a policeman arrived. The same report stated that they fought twice that day — one in the morning and another in the afternoon when they saw each other.

Maybe it’s best to have it 50-50 next time?
