Two women imprisoned for bribe try on drug officer

A Quezon City court has sentenced two women  to one year imprisonment for trying to bribe agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Judy Gonzaga and Menchie Bermil  were found guilty by Judge Ralph Lee of the QC Regional Trial Court branch 83 . The two had tried to bribe PDEA agents in exchange for the  freedom of their relatives who  arrested on drug charges.

The two women were arrested on July 24, 2011 after trying to bribe PDEA officers with PHP480,000 for the freedom of  Saber Hayatuddin and Arbiya Uya, the Philippine Star reported.
