There are a variety of accidents that happen in Metro Manila each day and, in this one, the poor victim wasn’t even aboard one of the buses in the mishap.
“A man was injured after being hit by one of the two buses that collided with each other in Mandaluyong City on Monday, August 11,” reports Dennis Carcamo on Philstar.com.
According to witnesses, the victim, a man in his early 20s, was just waiting for a ride along the southbound lane of the EDSA Reliance area when he got unlucky.
The report noted: “Initial investigation showed that a Dela Rosa Transit bus and GPS Transport were racing to get to passengers at the loading bay, which resulted in the collision. One of the buses hit the man.”
The victim, who sustained a head injury, was rushed to the Victor R. Potenciano Medical Center.
Meanwhile, the report said that “the Mandaluyong City traffic police have taken bus drivers Emmanuel Malate and Jeffrey Villalba into custody for further investigation.”
