It’s ironic when a reporter becomes part of the news.
“At around 5:30am on Friday, September 26, TV5 reporter Jeff Caparas reported to police that his Honda Civic car with plate number TNT-637 was stolen,” reports Nestor Corrales on Inquirer.net.
The report noted: “Caparas had parked his car on Jamboree Street along Timog Avenue on Thursday night, Sep 25, but only discovered the incident Friday morning when he came out to check his vehicle.”
The area where Caparas had parked is hardly remote as the GMA Network building is nearby, along with various restaurants.
According to Police Officer 2 Jonald Unida of the Quezon City Police Station 10, “while Caparas was at the police station, officials of Barang (village) Sacred Heart called around 7:30am and informed the police about an abandoned car found in their barangay at 4:30am.”
The report indicated that “police responded to the report and confirmed that it was Caparas’ missing car found on the corner of Scout Rallos and Scout Ybardolaza Streets.”
Police said that “some parts of the car were missing including the wiper, stereo, side mirror, and some of Caparas’ belongings.”
Police will check the CCTV footage of nearby establishments to help solve the case.
