A total of 260 private primary and secondary schools in the metropolis will be increasing tuition fees for the coming school year, the Department of Education (DepEd) said.
The DepEd has allowed 182 private primary schools and 78 secondary schools in the National Capital Region (NCR) to raise fees, amounting to roughly 6 to 10 percent. DepEd Assistant Secretary Tonisito Umali said the number of tuition increases they approved this year is lower than those in previous years. The list of schools petitioning for tuition increase from the provinces has yet to be finalized, ABS-CBN News reported.
