Well, the bus line is once again in the news for a tragic reason.
“On Monday, July 28, barely five days since its fleet again hit the road, one of the buses of GV Florida fatally hit a relative of Tuguegarao City Mayor Jefferson Pattaui Soriano,” reports Raymund Catindig in The Philippine Star.
The report said that the victim, Randy Pattaui, 34, had been crossing the highway in Barangay Ugac Norte in Tuguegarao City. Bus driver Roland Pablo claimed that he blew the horn when Pattaui suddenly crossed the highway, but it was too late.
Pattaui died en route to the hospital, while Pablo surrendered to the police after the incident.
The report further noted: “The bus fleet of GV Florida was allowed by the Court of Appeals to resume its trips after reversing an earlier six-month suspension imposed by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board when one the Bontoc crash happened.”
