This is a heartbreak a lot of Filipinos encountered in their homes, but this is the first time it’s ever happened from the supermarket.
Nikki Calalang of San Fernando, Pampanga shared on Facebook how her mother bought a tub of ice cream from a nearby grocery store on Friday afternoon.
However, when they opened the tub at home, they found frozen spaghetti (perhaps still from the holiday festivities?) instead of ice cream!
Nikki writes, “My mama bought an ice cream at Walter Mart San Fernando. Pagbukas namin, spaghetti yung laman. (When we opened it, it contained spaghetti.) LEGIT, I SWEAR HAHAHAHHAHA :(((
Hello Walter Mart Supermarket, pa-refund gusto ko ng (Please refund, I want) ice cream. Not frozen spaghetti 😭”
She later on updated her status saying they went back to the grocery store and approached the customer service desk.
“They apologized and replaced the spaghetti with a real ice cream. It was okay. They told us that they’re going to investigate, see who put that there and all that,” Nikki wrote.
Speaking to Coconuts Manila, Nikki said the grocery store asked her to take down her Facebook post, but she declined.
“They were insisting (that I take down the post), I said no. It’s not like we were mad at them. I posted it to share laughter, not shame them,” she explained.
She adds, “They kept texting and calling me. They were apologizing and asking me for my home address. Told me that they have a token for me.”
We hope that token is another tub of ice cream!
