But this doesn’t mean all is well.
“Members of the Integrated North Harbor Truckers Association have agreed to suspend their strike and abide by the truck ban imposed by the City of Manila starting for 3 days starting Thursday, Feb 27,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report quoted the association’s president Teddy Gerbacio, who said they are “willing to try adhere to the daytime truck ban, but will hold a new dialogue with Mayor Joseph Estrada if they find the truck ban still unfavorable.”

Right now, the city government has given truckers a longer window, from 10am to 5pm. Gerbacio explained that they will be able to gauge if this is effective within three days—after which they will have another dialogue with the city government.
Critics of the Manila daytime truck ban have said that the scheme has adverse effects on businesses. However, Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada is adamant in saying that it needs to be implemented to ease traffic congestion.
