Truckers protest Manila truck ban

It’s going to get messy before it all gets sorted out.

“A group of some 12,000 truckers were expected to go on strike Monday, Feb 24, to protest the expanded truck ban in Manila, even as the city government has revised its truck ban hours to allow truckers to use Manila roads from 10am to 3pm,” reports InterAksyon.com.

The report quoted Sening Dimate of the Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines, who said that “even with the revised truck ban hours, he and his fellow truckers won’t be able to deliver their goods on time.”

Under the current truck ban, trucks are only allowed on the road from 9pm to 5am, then, as per the revised rule, from 10am to 3pm. *However, the truckers group seeks the return of the original 15 hours a day.
