The driver and his passenger are still lucky.
“On Tuesday morning, Feb 11, a truck which swerved to avoid an overtaking ambulance caught fire when it overturned along Barangay Karuhatan, Valenzuela,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
According to the truck’s driver, who was only identified as Jeffrey, he was passing through Marcos Highway in Barangay Karuhatan when an ambulance attempted to overtake the truck. Jeffrey said he tried to avoid the ambulance, causing the truck to overturn.
The report then cited the explanation of SFO2 Enrico Valerio, commander of the Karuhatan Fire Rescue. He said “the blaze started at the truck’s rear wheel when its electrical wiring created a spark.”
Only the helper who was on the truc’s passenger seat was harmed. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
