Yesterday, Navotas City started banning trucks and heavy vehicles from using the city’s roads from 6am-9am and 4pm-8pm on weekdays (except holidays). This is to help decongest traffic in the Fishing Capital of the Philippines.
The coastal town’s mayor, John Rey Tiangco, posted this on his Facebook account: Navotas City Government, through Exec Order 008-13, bans cargo trucks and heavy vehicle on any street in the city w/ no less than 2 lanes from 6-9am & 4-8pm except on Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays to ease traffic flow & eliminate traffic congestion. Effective on Oct 1, 2013.”
How about banning jeeps and tricycles next? MM
