Tropical Storm ‘Maring’ finally leaves

Tropical Storm “Maring” has finally left the Philippine Area of Responsibility but will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon, which means it will keep raining for a while.

According to the latest weather bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, & Astronomical Services Administration, Maring was spotted 500 kilometers northeast of Itbayat Batanes on Wednesday morning.

Moving West Northwest at 20 kilometers per hour, Maring is expected to be 600 km northwest of Batanes by Thursday morning.

Pagasa still expects heavy to torrential rain within the 500-km diameter of the storm and fishermen have been cautioned against sailing out because of big waves caused by the monsoon.
