Now, we know which position he’s going for.
“In an interview on KrisTV aired on Tuesday, March 17, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV told the show’s host, Kris Aquino, youngest sister of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, that he will leave his political future to the Nacionalista Party (NP),” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
Trillanes explained, “I intend to run for a higher office. My preference is to be vice president. I’ll let Nacionalista Party decide.”
Trillanes then went on to say that “if he does not win 2016, he said he will no longer seek higher office.”
The report noted: “Trillanes is a former Navy officer who joined the failed 2003 Oakwood Mutiny against President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. In 2007, he was elected senator despite being in jail due to coup e’etat charges. In 2010, he was released following an amnesty declaration of President Benigno Aquino III.”
The senator was re-elected in the May 2013 elections. His term ends in 2019.
