On Thu, Sep 15, during a hearing conducted by the Senate Justice and Human Rights Committee headed by Sen. Leila de Lima, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV turned off the microphone of Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.

On Mon, Sep 19, Trillanes released an official letter addressed to Cayetano, wherein he said sorry about what happened.

The letter reads:

Dear Senator Cayetano:

This is to express my apologies for my demeanor during last Thursday’s hearing of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights. It was brought about because of the passion and emotion of the moment. Nonetheless, it was uncalled for.

Be assured that such incident will not happen again.

Very truly yours,
Antonio “Sonny” F. Trillanes IV

Senate President Koko Pimentel and Sen. Leila de Lima were also sent a copy of the letter.

We wonder how Cayetano will react to this. We have to admit, though, that Trillanes has balls to put it in writing.
