“Senator Antonio ‘Sonny’ Trillanes IV wants Makati Mayor Junjun Binay — who has been holed up in his office despite the six-month preventive suspension order by the Office of the Ombudsman and the subsequent 60-day temporary restraining order (TRO) on the suspension issued by the Cour of Appeals (CA) — to stop the drama,” reports Maila Ager on Inquirer.net.
Trillanes said in Filipino, “Junjun Binay should stop this drama. They are seeking sympathy.”
Trillanes added, “People should remember that these people (Binay and other Makati officials named in the Ombudsman’s suspension order) stole hundreds of millions from the coffers of Makati and yet they are feigning innocence. For decades, these people have taken advantage of the poor in Makati and now they have this kind of drama.”
The report recalled that “Trillanes initiated the Senate investigation on corruption allegations against the past and incumbent officials of Makati City, specifically members of the Binay family led by Vice President Jejomar Binay.”
