Trillanes insists there’s a destabilization plot, but it just hasn’t progressed

Well, he should know, right?

“Senator Antonio Trillanes IV stood by his information that there are retired officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) who are trying to convince active members of the military to join a destabilization plot against President Noynoy Aquino,” reports ANC.

However, Trillanes said the plot hasn’t gained momentum.

Trillanes was quoted as saying, “Sigurado ako sa impormasyon ko. ‘Yung impormasyon na sinabi ko kanina. Kasi ‘pag dinagdagan natin ang statement ko, talagang kung saan-saan makakarating ‘yan. I was very clear may mga retiradong opisyal ng Armed Forces na naghihikayat sa mga active members ng AFP. Pero fortunately, hindi ito kinakagat ng mga active members. So hindi pa nagpo-progress ‘yan into anything serious (I am sure about my information. The information I’ve been talking about. If I add any more details to my statement, things may get out of hand. I was very clear that there are retired Armed Forces members who are asking active AFP members to join them. But, fortunately, the active members didn’t bite. That’s why it has not progressed to anything serious).”

For its part, the AFP has maintained that they don’t know about any destabilization plot.
