Trillanes doubts Duterte’s plan to fix PH in 3 to 6 months

In the past, vice presidential aspirant Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV was known for his tiff with Vice President Jejomar Binay, who’s running for President. Now, we ask: Has he found another target?

“Trillanes has challenged presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to explain in detail his pronouncements that he will end criminality in just three to six months,” reports Ron Gagalac on ABS-CBNnews.com.

After his political rally in Bustos, Bulacan early Thu, Feb 25, Trillanes met with reporters. He said in Filipino, “(Duterte) should explain how he’s going to pull it off from Day 1 to the end of six months. What is he exactly going to do? I’m so confident that he won’t be able to do it. He should really focus on his program.”

Trillanes says Duterte’s vow to eradicate crime and corruption so quickly might come at a terrible price. “Natatakot ako talaga. Kung ang tactics niya sa Davao gagawin niya sa buong bansa, delikado ‘yan. Dapat mag-isip-isip ang mga kababayan natin (I’m really afraid. If he applies the tactics he used in Davao to the whole country, then that’s dangerous. Our countrymen should really think hard),” he stated.

The report noted: “Duterte is popular for instilling discipline in his turf. He has been seen patrolling the streets at night and criminals often fear the mayor. Residents also take pride in a relatively crime-free Davao City.”

Trillanes reiterated that while he “understands the clamor for radical moves to end criminality in the country,” he believes that these “must be done in accordance with the law.”
