“At around 7:30am on Monday, Mar 3, Roderick Garcia Gonzales, a member of the city’s Traffic Parking and Management Office, was directing traffic on Market Avenue in front of the Pasig City Mega Market when he saw Ryan Alvarez, 31, snatch something from the bag of Fitness First trainer Ma. Monica Santos, who was getting into a jeepney,” reports Kristine Felisse Mangunay in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Gonzales sought help from another traffic enforcer who chased the thief and arrested him. Thankfully, they recovered Santos’ phone, along with her cardholder which contained PHP2,000 and her ATM cards.
Alvarez is now detained at the Pasig City Police headquarters. (By the way, what’s the name of the other traffic enforcer who helped catch him?)
