Just when you thought the In My Feelings challenge hype has died down, someone goes ahead and tops everything else you’ve seen.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is reportedly on the hunt for a woman who did the viral challenge in EDSA, Metro Manila’s busiest thoroughfare.
A Facebook page called Tagabukid shared the video today of a woman who can be seen dancing on a packed flyover in EDSA, which Pilipino Star Ngayon‘s Facebook page reposted.
In the video, the woman’s companions cheer her on, telling her to twerk before she gets back in the car with them.
GMA News’ Unang Balita reported that the MMDA have seen the video and are currently looking for the woman to flag her for violating the Anti-Distracted Driving Act.
Uh-oh.
Radio Mindanao Network reported that traffic authorities reminded the general public not to copy the woman.
The Transportation Department had already warned people last month that doing the challenge in a public area violates the law. The MMDA also issued a warning last month to those who plan to do the challenge outside a moving vehicle. First-time offenders will be fined PHP5,000 (US$93.56).
GMA News’ Balitambayan reported that those who will be caught the second time will be fined PHP10,000 (US$187.11) while those who are at their third offense will be fined PHP15,000 (US$280.70) and will get their driver’s license suspended for three months.
In the same report, the MMDA stated that doing the challenge in major thoroughfares such as EDSA, C-5 Road, Commonwealth, and Mabuhay Lanes will get motorists fined.
The MMDA has reached out to a woman they believe to be the one featured on the video but they have yet to confirm if it was really her.
To anyone still thinking of doing the challenge, maybe just sit this one out? Social media virality isn’t worth the hassle.
