Traffic advisory: Rerouting for first Manila Triathlon

“Traffic officials warned the public against heavy traffic on Saturday, March 1 for the first Manila Triathlon organized by the Manila Police District (MPD),” reports Jenny F. Manongdo in the Manila Bulletin.

Preparations for Trimanila 2014—which will involve the police, the military and the public—will start early.

Starting 2am on Saturday, March 1, several areas will be closed to vehicular traffic. These include Roxas Boulevard, T.M. Kalaw Street, Ma. Orosa Street, as well as certain stretches of Taft Avenue and Quirino Avenue.

The rerouting of vehicles is as follows:

—All vehicles coming from northern part of Manila pier zone intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn at Anda circle straight to A. Soriano Street. Then, right to Magallanes Drive. Next, right to P. Burgos straight to Taft Avenue to point of destination

—All vehicles coming from Southern part of Manila intending to utilize the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn right to Buendia turn left to Taft Avenue to point of destination.

Meanwhile, the venue for the swimming competition will be at the Rizal Memorial complex Olympic pool and the bike and run competition will be at Roxas Boulevard.
