“The number coding scheme being implemented in Metro Manila’s thoroughfares will be lifted on Thursday, February 19, which
Malacañang has a special non-working day to mark the Lunar New Year or Chinese New Year,” reports Ritchie A. Horario in The Manila Times.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the number coding suspension includes Makati and Las Piñas.
The report noted: “Under the number coding system, vehicles are barred on major roads from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. depending on the last digit of their license plates. Banned on Mondays are vehicles with plate numbers ending in 1 and 2; 3 and 4 on Tuesdays; 5 and 6 on Wednesdays; 7 and 8 on Thursdays; and 9 and 0 on Fridays.”
