It has to be fixed.

“The full closure of the Ayala Bridge — which connects Ermita and San Miguel in Manila —  for its rehabilitation will start on Saturday, March 21 and last until April 20, 2015,” reports Philippine News Agency on InterAksyon.com.

The report noted: “The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has installed informative signs with alternate routes for motorists and commuters at the following roads: España, A.H. Lacson, President Quirino Avenue, United Nations Avenue, Ayala Boulevard, Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard, Bustillos and Legarda Streets, P. Casal Extension, Claro M. Recto Avenue, Dapitan, Carlos Palanca Sr., Quezon Boulevard, Plaza Sta. Cruz, Carriedo, Padre Burgos, Andalucia, and Lerma.”

Moreover, as the report indicated, “the navigation of vessels will also not be allowed for 48 hours to be announced two days prior to the actual date of lifting the bridge structure.”

When the bridge reopens on Apr 21, it will still be partially closed on the east side but will be open one-way northbound. This will be the case until Jun 14.

Then, from Jun 15 to Jul 20, the bridge will be partially closed west side but open one-way northbound.

Trucks and buses will still not be allowed to go through the bridge during the partial one-way opening.
