Top QC officials express support for Mar, Leni

On Mon, Mar 28, Quezon City officials such as Mayor Herbert Bautista, Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, and congressmen Francisco Calalay Jr. (1st District), Winston Castelo (2nd District), Jorge John Banal (3rd District), Sonny Belmonte (4th District), Alfred Vargas (5th District), and Kit Belmonte (6th District) formally declared their support for Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer, Mar Roxas, and his running mate, Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo.

ABS-CBN News cited the statement of the QC officials wherein they credited Roxas for “his contributions to the call center industry, the relocation of illegal settlers away from danger zones, and the creation of an education fund for the impoverished youth of Batasan and Payatas districts.” They added that “almost 39,000 families benefit from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the administration and that the city was chosen as the beneficiary of 36 projects under the Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) program.”

Their joint statement pointed out: “Kung mayroong marangal at mahusay na pamumuno, mas malayo pa ang maabot ng Quezon City. At gusto namin, maramdaman ng lahat ng bayan at lungsod sa buong Pilipinas ang kaunlaran at kaginhawaang dala ng pamumunong matuwid (If there is honorable and comepetent leadership, Quezon City will achieve bigger things. We want the whole country to know the progress and development brought by the straight path).”
