Top 9 foreign donors in Yolanda recovery revealed

Let’s just hope the money goes where it’s supposed to go.

“Nearly six months after super typhoon Yolanda slammed into the central Philippines, foreign aid supporting the United Nations (UN) Strategic Response Plan (SRP) has already reached $441.26 or 56% of the US$788 million target,” reports the Philippines News Agency on InterAksyon.com.

So, which foreign countries and agencies have given so much for the Yolanda recovery and rehabilitation efforts?

Here they are (with their donations converted to US dollar for uniformity):

1. Canada (US$45.43 million)
2. United Kingdom (US$45.02 million)
3. United States (US$40.11)
4. Japan (US$30.50 million)
5. European Union ($28.19 million)
6. Central Emergency Response Fund of UN ($25.28 million)
7. Australia ($20.62 million)
