Support restaurants that pay honest taxes.
The Department of Finance (DOF) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) recently released the list of top 50 restaurant taxpayers for Quezon City. Interestingly, only four out TripAdvisor.com’s 50 highest-rated food places in QC are in the top taxpayers list.
These are:
- Banapple (no.2 with PHP4.29 million)
- Max’s (no. 24, with P613,370)
- Omakase (no. 32 with PHP493,313)
- Cyma (no. 44 with PHP303,260)
These figures were for the year 2011. According to the report, restaurant supplier Chef’s Secret Inc. was the city’s highest taxpayer, with PHP4.98 million in payments. Here’s a list of the top 10 restaurant taxpayers in QC:

4. Pancake House (PHP1,621,032)

7. Yo! Teppan Restaurant, Cocina La Paella, Huntley Mandarin Food Express, Metrostar Cafe (PHP1,018,408)
8. Lettered L Canteen Services (PHP1,000,007)
9. Pho No 1, Inc, (PHP939,157)
10. Hizon’s Restaurant & Catering Services (PHP915,723)

The BIR clarified though that some QC establishments were not included in the list because they pay taxes in the cities where their head offices are located. The tax agencies are also urging citizens to submit anonymous tips at www.perangbayan.com.
