Too early to assign blame on Serendra blast, Roxas says

It is too early to say whether Ayala Land, developer of the Two Serendra condominium building at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig should be held liable for a blast that kiled three people on May 31.

Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II has already said the blast was likely caused by a liquified petroleum gas leak. He said Monday, though, that it is not clear if anyone is to blame for the explosion.

“We basically don’t know and the whole point of the investigation is to find out what exactly happened so we will know and then we can say, well, who’s at fault –if there is anybody at fault– or was this an accident?” Roxas said on a Philippine Star report.

He said authorities will still check whether there were flaws in the building’s design, construction, and maintenance.
