After Toni Gonzaga’s interview with Bongbong Marcos on her vlog made headlines last week, the buzz around the actress-host would not let up as she’s back with a new video: her interview with Manny Pacquiao released on her YouTube channel shortly after the boxer-senator officially announced that he was running for president on Sunday, September 19.
The Toni-Manny interview came out mere hours after the boxer accepted his political party PDP-Laban’s nomination, with the title “Why Manny Pacquiao is Running for President” — indicating that she knew about his 2022 plans ahead of the announcement.
Interesting turn of events, considering the BBM interview was just released six days ago; Grace Poe the week before. While we haven’t seen a final list of presidentiables yet, Toni’s recent list of interviewees curiously involves names that have been floating around as we inch closer to the certificate of candidacy filing for the 2022 elections, set between October 1 to 8 this year.
Based on what we’ve seen so far, the actress-host has a knack for fluffy motherhood statements and softball questions, which leads us to wonder: Is she taking cues from former co-host and mentor Boy Abunda? What question will she ask next: “Lights on or lights off?” Is she interviewing Sara Duterte next?
We suppose we’ll have to wait for her video drop next week to find out, but here are the presidentiables — potential and confirmed — she’s featured on her vlog so far:
Bongbong Marcos
Not that your memory likely needs refreshing, but to recap: Toni Gonzaga released a video of her interviewing nuptials ninong and former senator Bongbong Marcos on September 13, Monday.

Grace Poe
Just a week before the Toni-BBM video was released, Toni had also extended her platform to senator Grace Poe, who also sought the presidency in the 2016 elections. Coalition 1Sambayan included Poe on their initial list of potential opposition candidates for the presidency in the 2022 elections.
Leni Robredo
Toni also featured Vice President Leni Robredo, whom opposition forces have been calling to seek the presidency in 2022, in a video released on August 29.
Isko Moreno
Manila mayor and Aksyon Demokratiko party president Isko Moreno, whose name is being floated for the upcoming presidential race, also did a one-on-one with the actress in a video released on August 22.
Chel Diokno
Although human rights lawyer and law dean Chel Diokno has recently confirmed that he is running for senator, he was once named as one of 1Sambayan’s bets for president or vice-president. Diokno was featured on Toni’s video entitled, “What Happened to Atty. Chel Diokno When His Father Was Imprisoned”.
