A bad joke can lead to murder.
“Bienvenido Gregorio, 44, is now detained at the Manila Police District following his arrest by barangay authorities in Tondo for killing his sister,” reports Itchie G. Cabayan on Journal Online.
Gregorio’s sister, Bernadeth Nakpil, 45, was declared dead on arrival at a hospital. He had stabbed her three times in her chest area.
The report noted: “Accoridng to SPO1 Charles Duran of the MPD-Homicide Section, the incident took place at around 8 p.m. at the gate of the siblings’ home.”
Gregorio was outside the gate with some neighbors when Nakpil called him using the word “supot” or uncircumcised. This caused the neighbors to laugh at the Gregorio.
Gregorio then went into the house, grabbed a knife, and then went back out and stabbed Nakpil who was then still standing near their gate.
