Today could be Metro Manila’s coldest December day

If the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) doesn’t record a lower temperature on Dec 31, then today’s 20.8 degrees Celsius may be Metro Manila’s the coldest day of the year.

“PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio revealed that the metro experienced the coldest day this year last November when temperature was recorded at 20.7 degrees Celsius,” reports Camille Diola on Philstar.com.

The temperature readings were recorded at the PAGASA Science Garden in Quezon City between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Aurelio said that the public “should expect chillier mornings in the coming weeks.”

Last January 18, Metro Manila’s coldest temperature of the year was recorded at 18.8 degrees Celsius recorded at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Meanwhile, that same day, the temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius at the Science Garden in Quezon City. Both temperatures were taken at 6am.

According to PAGASA’s records, Metro Manila experienced its coldest temperature ever on Feb 4, 1987 and Dec 30, 1988, when the temperature went down to 15.1 degrees Celsius.
