Ah, what is it with showbiz and formula: if it worked the first time, it will mostly work a second time, right? After getting news coverage and tons of social media mileage for posting a selfie while on the MRT (including a positive editorial from Coconuts Manila), the famously polarizing presidential sister rode the train again yesterday morning (and a jeepeny, and a pedicab) this time with co-host Kim Chiu and a film crew on hand. Kris Aquino gamely went through the motions of inspections, queues and even talked talked to a random passenger, whom she appeared to try to convince about the “convenience” of taking public transport. She even noticed “how clean” the trains were. During the trip, Kris spoke with the head of the Light Rail Transit Authority, who runs the train operations, and they discussed the annual government subsidy and the planned extension project. Last week, heavy monsoon rains stalled traffic in Metro Manila and Kris hopped onto a train so she wouldn’t be late to an event. MM
