This may very well be the last minute of their pseudo-fame.
“The Court of Appeals (CA) has upheld the acquittal of two drug suspects—Richard Brodett and Jorge Joseph—arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Ayala Alabang Village in September 2008,” reports Edu Punay in The Philippine Star.
Brodett and Jorge, along with Joseph Tecson, were collectively dubbed as the “Alabang Boys” at the height of their notoriety in 2008. For the record, though, only Brodett and Joseph were busted in the entrapment operation conducted by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents in the posh Ayala Alabang Village. Tecson was caught during a follow-up operation in Cubao, Quezon City that same day.
According to the report, “in the 23-page decision released earlier this week, the CA Special 4th Division denied the petition filed by the Office of the Solicitor General seeking the reversal of the verdict handed down by Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court Judge Juanita Guerrero on August 26, 2011.”
The CA acquitted Brodett and Joseph of the drug charges “due to the failure of the prosecution to prove their guilt beyond reasonable doubt.”
As for Tecson, who was arraigned in Quezon City, we’re not really sure what happened to him.
