Mechel Santiago — the daughter-in-law of Miriam Defensor Santiago — posted this photo of the late former senator earlier this month.
The Sep 8 post had this message: “To all my families and friends who sent me their birthday greetings (through text, e-mail and private messages here), please accept my sincere thanks and appreciation. Please don’t forget to include Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago in your daily prayers. Her full recovery will mean a lot for the family and our country.”
Mechel then explained that the photo of Miriam showed her carrying her firstborn Archie, who is Mechel’s husband.
