Three children, between 4 and 5 years old, died in two separate incidents in Navotas and Malabon cities at the height of the rains and floods on Friday afternoon.
ABS CBN News reported that 5-year-old Dan Rey Cruz of Taganahan street, North Bay Boulevard South drowned in a pumping station at Barangay Bagong Bayan South.According to Navotas Police, witnesses saw the boy peeing at the side of the pumping station. They boy slipped and fell into the deep end of the river.
On the other hand, a 5-year-old Maricel Marcelino and 4-year-old John Mark Macampara drowned in the Muzon river in Malabon. Witnesses said the two kids were playing along Sto. Niño Street in Barangay Concepcion. The two must have decided to swim in the river. However, the parents said neither of them knew how to swim.
