It’s that time of year again when porn video-sharing site Pornhub shares its fascinating insights on global porn behavior.
Numbers released by Pornhub yesterday show that the Philippines spends the most time watching videos on their site. It is the country’s third consecutive year to top the ranking.
Data revealed that Filipinos spent an average of 13 minutes and 28 seconds on the website, significantly higher than the global average of 9 minutes and 59 seconds.
No other Southeast Asian country landed in the top 10 ranking for spending the most time on site.
Filipinos are watching for longer too. This year’s data is higher than the 12 minute and 45 second average time spent on site in both 2015 and 2016.
Next on the list of “time spent per visit” is South Africa, the United States, and Canada.
But we can’t know for sure if Filipinos are spending all that time on the website because of the country’s notoriously slow internet or if Filipinos just have a lot of time on their hands because unfortunately, the analysis doesn’t go that deep.
The Philippines stayed in first place despite the government requesting internet service providers to block access to porn sites, including Pornhub, last year. But even after the request, some users reported still having access to the site, while others reported it blocked. That might be why the country doesn’t rank among top sources of web traffic even if Pornhub visitors from the Philippines spend the most time on site.
Their top five traffic sources come from the United States, followed by the United Kingdom, India, Japan and Canada.
