Metro Manila has been placed under the orange rainfall advisory early Monday morning after the weather bureau projects that moderate rains would persist. The steady rains, which began Sunday, continued overnight and flooded many side streets in the capital. Twitter has likewise been flooded with announcements from local governments and other official sources of information. Most cities in Metro Manila have called off classes ranging from preschool to college, while the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority lifted the number coding scheme.
